Meet Dolores Velasquez
Master Stylist Dolores Velasquez brings luxury hair care to Long Island! After over a decade in Manhattan, Dolores moved her private salon, Salon Protégé, closer to home. She specializes in all facets of hair transformation, and prides herself on helping clients produce healthier, thicker, younger looking hair by analyzing their hair type, listening to their needs, and working together. She continuously receives rave reviews for all services from cuts, color to hair extensions and scalp treatments!
Dolores has been doing hair for as long as she could hold a pair of scissors. Growing up in her parents’ successful NY salon, her passion for hair started at a young age. She loved the opportunity to watch her parents make people feel beautiful and look their absolute best. Dolores was only 9 years old when she did her first haircut and by the age of 16 she had her own chair at a high end salon. One thing was very clear, Dolores was born to do hair! Her parents, colleagues, and friends nicknamed her the 'child protégé'. In 2016, her childhood dream became a reality and she opened her own private salon in New York City. It seemed fitting that she include her childhood nickname, and that's how Salon Protégé was born.
In addition to providing clients with the hair they always dreamed of, Dolores prides herself on her education, knowledge, and experience. She's received various certifications including Bellami and Great Lengths hair extensions, Goldwell color, and Nutrafol for hair loss, to name a few. Even with years of advanced training under her belt, she is constantly continuing her education and staying ahead of the trends by attending classes all over the world.
